Oral Habit Elimination

Oral Habits

Thumb/Finger sucking can begin in the womb and normal to see in the first few years of children’s life, naturally stopping on their own. If thumb/finger sucking continue past the age of 3, it can have a negative impact on their jaw shape, teeth position, tongue placement, breathing, and speech development. Any oral habit (pacifier, bottle, sippy cup, nail biting, thumb/finger sucking, lip licking/biting) can have a negative impact.

At MyoBalance, we are here to help your child quit negative oral habits in a fun, easy and rewarding way without the use of invasive appliances. With support, guidance and interactive proven strategies, we can help your child stop their habit.

Children as young as 4 years of age can benefit from the Oral Habit Elimination Program.

Myo & Me

Myo & Me

The Myo & Me program is an early intervention program designed for children ages 4-6. Often, parents can see myofunctional disorders in their children at a young age but are unsure of what to do. If your child has had their tonsils/adenoids removed, is a loud/messy eater, has disturbed sleep, snores, and/or grinds their teeth they could benefit from having early intervention Myofunctional Therapy.

The Myo & Me program exercises are fun and interactive so that parents and children can do them together. Children this age don’t have the same oral and motor skills as older kids, shorter attention spans also need to be taken into account. Myo & Me program allows parents to help introduce good oral habits to their children at a young age. Parents will often notice benefits in themselves from doing the exercises with their children.

Every year that passes can make problems more difficult to treat.
